San Francisco-based Digital Realty Trust Inc. announced a $150 million expansion in Loudoun County Wednesday that will add 50 new jobs.

The provider of data center solutions has committed to invest at least $150 million by 2015 in its Loudoun County operation. The campus expansion is expected to create at least 50 jobs in the county.

As a result of the commitment, Digital Realty will be eligible for a sales tax exemption on eligible data center computer equipment.

According to a statement by Loudoun County Economic Development Assistant Director Buddy Rizer, Digital Realty is the largest data center operator in the county. Digital Realty expects to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility next month.
